I enjoyed Rob's talk on ITIL - and came away with a better idea of where ITIL fits in with other IT professional areas.  I think its challenging for any professional  - and especially - a consultant to be critique one's own profession.

I think this message is particularly good for any one planning to engage an ITIL practioner. It helps set the right expectations  -for instance -  to know that they may need to supplement (and appropriately scope) their investment with risk management processes because they would not be covered adequately under ITIL.
